Grant Information

Dates for Submitting Letters of Intent Online**

**Letters of Intent will only be accepted during these two months of the year.


Letters of Intent submitted during this period will be evaluated and considered for full applications to be reviewed in either our 3rd quarter meeting to be held in July or our 4th quarter meeting to be held in October.



September 1st through September 30th

Letters of Intent submitted during this period will be evaluated and considered for full applications to be reviewed the following year in either our 1st quarter meeting to be held in January or our 2nd quarter meeting to be held in April. Once you have submitted your Letter of Intent the name of the agency and date it was submitted will appear  AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS PAGE within 48 hours. If you do not see your agency listed within 48 hours please contact us as soon as possible.







Grant Application Process

  1. Please include a summary of the project/program, amount requesting and the goals of the project/program. If we feel that your project/program fits within our guidelines and mission statement, we will send a grant application.
  2. Site visits may be set up prior to the Board Meeting. Remember, this is part of the review process and does not guarantee a grant.
  3. The foundation meets quarterly to review applications.
  4. Approved grants of $5,000 and up will be required to complete the online GRANT UPDATE FORM 8 month after funds have been expended.


2017 Letter of Intent & Grant Application Review Cycle

February = Letters of Intent Submitted

Letters of Intent approved in February will be eligible for a Grant Application in either July or October.

September = Letters of Intent Submitted

Letters of Intent approved in September will be eligible for a Grant Application in either January or April.


First Quarter Grant Application Review January
Second Quarter Grant Application Review April 
Third Quarter Grant Application Review July 
Fourth Quarter Grant Application Review October

Grant Guidelines

  • Must be a 501 (c)(3) Tax Exempt organizations serving the Kansas City metropolitan area.
  • The maximum grants are $25,000.
  • Once an organization receives a grant, they must wait a full year before re-applying.
  • We are not currently funding capital campaigns.
  • No grants will be made to political parties, agendas, or activities.
  • No grants will be made to organizations that provide services that target a specific religious sect, population, or agenda.
  • We do not fund multi-year grants.
  • We do not contribute to fundraisers and events.
  • We do not provide grants to individuals or social organizations.
  • We do not provide grants to other foundations or funding agencies.
  • The Curry Family Foundation Application format must be followed.

  • If you are applying for operational, please be very specific about how the funds will be used.
  • Additional information may be requested that is not listed on the.
  • Review dates are subject to adjustment.

Grant Updates

The Curry Family Foundation asks that grant recipients submit a Grant Update Report. This will be used to evaluate the effectiveness of our grants and to keep us updated on the organization. If you have pictures of the project/program, you are welcome to include those. You may submit your update by using the online form here.
